Concerns about The Passion Translation
The Passion Translation claims to be a new translation for people today. The "translator" is a single man, called Brian Simmons. See his personal website. Simmons is an adherent of the so-called New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) theology, which we think is a heresy. Here is the listing of Brian Simmons on the NAR-connections website, along with the infamous leaders of Bethel Church in Reading (CA), Benny Hinn, Tom de Wal, Rick Warren, Rick Joyner, Joseph Prince, Bill Johnson, Joyce Meyer, and many others.
What does the well-respected platform Gotquestions.org say about the project. The Passion Translation is not a translation nor a paraphrase and is not recommended by Gotquestions.
This video shares a couple of concerns as well. The interviewed Mike Winger (website) calls the Passion Translation a tool to prop-up Brian Simmons' false NAR-theology. See all the warning video's about the Passion Translation here.
