John Mark Comer
This man is popular with young people, in the U.S. but also upcoming into Europe. Below some references holding warnings about Comer's teaching. His recent book, Practicing the Way, is controversial. It looks like Comer advocates the following of Jesus as a way, not as The Way. He leans to mystic ideas concerning "atonement" and rejects the Penel Substutionary Atonement. The aspect of repentance of new believers is almost absent. He rejects the word "disciple" and replaces it by "apprentice". I, Ed van Ouwerkerk, am worried. Some people see him as a New Age teacher, some as a NAR-adept. Make up your mind yourself, before you let his influence enter into your ministry or church.
In the above video Doreen Virtue warns against John Mark Comer. And Doreen Virtue knows what she talks about. She was a dedicated New Ager, who came to Christ.
