Steps to Freedom in Christ

for leaders and disciples

Audience
This course is for mature Christians. Materials: worksheets (which include video clips and pdf's). Length: 8 sessions, which could be covered in 3-4 gatherings. This series can be done in meetings face-to-face or online in Zoom-meetings. This course is helpful to mentors as a basis for assisting people overcoming bondages in any form or fashion.
Devices
You can display the course on all devices with an internet browser, video display and audio speakers. We recommend to use a laptop with mouse which has the ability to have more than one tab open at the same time. This will help to switch between browser tabs. It is possible to use a tablet or mobile phone, but will limit some features. We tried to make the software this way that having the Freedom in Christ participant guide at hand, isn't needed.
Course basics
The Freedom in Christ Course has been developed years ago by Dr. Neil Anderson (USA). Read the Statement of Faith of the Mission organization Freedom in Christ. A pivotal book by Neil Anderson is Victory over Darkness. In more recent years others, Steve Goss (UK) and Rod Woods (USA), have updated the course. Below you find the updated sections of The Steps to Freedom for Leaders pdf. And the cover pages of the study book and participant guide.
Worksheets and safety
Ed van Ouwerkerk added worksheets with interactive questions and evaluations, which he made accessible to both leaders and disciples.
You are about to use the features of this course, which include worksheets in which you type your personal responses. You may ask "How safe is this platform?". Here is the answer.
In the teaching video's page numbers and pages to write your own notes are mentioned originating from the original participant's guide. Don’t worry. The content of those passages is integrated in the worksheets. When you open the worksheets on your own laptop there is plenty of space in "blue boxes" to write privately as an alternative to using the participant's guide.
Bible translations and Bible app
The used Bible translations are the English Standard Version ESV(2025), the New King James Version (NKJV), and the New International Version NIV(2021). These are the updates that you can find in the current (2025) YouVersion Bible App.
Galatians 5:13 says "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
